Randall Sommer is the loving husband of the famous Marin Hinkle, the actress popular for playing the role of Judith Harper Melnik, in the well known American comedy sitcom “Two and a Half Men”, and for portraying the character of Judy Brucks in the soap drama series “Once and Again”.

In 1985 Randall was an actor having a screen appearance in the television series “Date Rape: No Means No”, however, he is not as renowned as his wife. By profession, he is a lawyer, director, with a past acting career.
Before attending law school, he spent several years as a theater director and assistant director on and off-Broadway in New York, as well as theaters in Chicago and Los Angeles. Sommer received his J.D. degree from Colombia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar, Harlan Fiske Scholar, and a Book Review Editor of the Colombian Law Review. At the school, he was rewarded and received prizes such as James A. Elkins (in Constitutional Law), and the Paul R. Hays Prize (in Civil Procedure).
After law school, he started working as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert W. Sweet in the District Court for the southern district of New York. In between working, he prioritized his further education and started studying at the University of Califonia, Santa Cruz, from where he graduated with college honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa (the most prestigious honor society that aims to promote and advocate excellence of the most outstanding students of colleges and universities). He has board-ranging experience litigating and trying complex commercial cases, including class actions and contractual disputes, in the financial services, energy, retail, entertainment, and aerospace industries. Randall has also provided pro bono legal services in the areas of prisoner rights, immigration, and campaign finance law, including the successful defense of the constitutionality of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act in the US Supreme Court. He also served as a special prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office for which he has first-chaired several jury trials.

Randall and Marin first met in a theater where he was working as a director and started dating in 1992. They were having a love relationship for 6 years before deciding to tie the knot and officialize their relationship. The couple got married in June 1998, in a private ceremony. Despite being part of all the glam and glitz of Hollywood, Marin and Randall managed to keep their 22 years of marriage perfectly by supporting, encouraging, and loving one another.
