The Maldives is a holiday destination that is well-known to international tourists. The Maldives is regarded as heaven with its beautiful beaches. It is famous for its white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, coral reefs, and the opportunity to take in a variety of fish species and the locals.
The tropical island is more than sandy beaches and sun-kissed sand. There are also various luxurious accommodations that you can stay in when visiting the island nation. For those with a tight budget, there are a variety of budget resorts available in the Maldives.
The budget-friendly resorts in the Maldives are scattered across the entire island to ensure that backpackers and budget-conscious travelers are not restricted to limiting their choices to a single location. Although the resorts aren’t expensive, the budget resorts in the Maldives can go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay for their visitors.
There is no need to sacrifice luxury at these resorts. You can have a wide array of amenities and activities with no burning holes in your wallet by staying in these hotels.
1. Thulhagiri Island Resort & Spa
Thulhagiri resort is another 4-star hotel among my top resorts in the Maldives. This is one of the best and cheap Maldives resorts. A well-maintained resort in the North Male Atoll takes approximately 20 minutes to reach via motorboat ride to Male City. The Resort is the most sought-after destination for tourists during the time of Covid.
The Resort offers a welcoming stroll along the beach, an inspiring spot right in the middle of the large Indian Ocean. Excellent driving instruction and water sports activities are available (at an additional cost). The time spent at Thulhagiri will prove less expensive than other resorts in the vicinity.
2. Thunder Guest House
The 3-star guest house is an alternative for those on a budget! The basic rooms here have AC Wi-Fi, AC, and balconies with beachfront views. Breathtaking sea views. The most appealing aspect of this guest house is its location on the famous Island of Fulidhoo.
Like other resorts with low prices, the water villa needs to be reserved at least 2-4 months ahead of time before the date of the time of arrival.
3. Sun Island Resort and Spa
The water bungalows are a true reflection of the island lifestyle in Sun Island Resort & Spa with its very comfortable ambiance. The Resort itself is among the biggest resorts in the Maldives in terms of space and rooms.
Sun Island Hotel has 68 water bungalows situated above the gorgeous turquoise lagoon. These luxurious accommodations are spacious and decorated with Maldivian-style furniture and a wood tower, giving the feeling of being in a private space separated from the other islands.
You can enjoy the stunning Maldives sunrise from the comfort of your private terrace. The size of the water villa is 64 square meters. The room facilities consist of air-conditioning, hot and cold water, tea/coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, telephone minibar, a TV (without an LCD screen) secure, and free Wi-Fi.
The villas are split into two rooms into blocks, each with its private veranda. The water villas also have access to the Ocean on their own, but they are far away from beaches. They offer a unique experience living on an island.

Kuredu Island Resort provides lots more and for very little more! It is the only Resort located on Kuredu Island. Kuredu located in Lhaviyani Atoll. A forty-minute seaplane trip across the sparkling waters of the Maldives takes you to the Resort that is distinct from others that are primarily white and beige hotels in the nation of islands. The Standard Huruvalhi Maldives is filled with art and color, which adds to the fun at the beach.
Pick one of the overwater villas or beach villas featuring a swimming pool and lounge area. During the day, snorkel the reef’s nutritional health, and in the evening, you can dance to tribal beats around the bonfire on the beach or aboard the boat, which has glass-bottomed dance floors.
